Why a Deposit Matters
A deposit doesn’t only ensure customer satisfaction, it helps protect you as well. If a client, for whatever reason, cancels their trip last-minute, you will have a lot of work to do in cancelling reservations, cars, flights, or more, and clients can be quite upset.
A deposit protects your time. When you require a deposit from clients, it ensures that only those who are serious about their travel plans will be willing to place a deposit. When a person hesitates over a deposit, you can leave it in their hands and move on to the next person. This way both you and the client can be assured that you have their best interests in mind and that the client is serious about their travel plans.

Without a deposit (and a signed document stating the client is aware of the deposit and what it entails!), you may lose out on profit as you cancel flights, hotels, and packages. And other companies may not be too kind with their cancellation fee. You may end up loosing money in the end.
With a deposit, you are assured at least a small safety net.
